Winter Jordan Pines Engagement Session with Melanie & Derek
As with other sessions I have shot at Jordan Pines, the Winter Jordan Pines Engagement Session with Melanie & Derek started out at Mule Hollow. Mule Hollow is a great place to start because of the amazing views and rock formations that blend in with the snow in the background. Its also close to Jordan Pines so its easy to get to both in a one hour photo shoot and give my clients more variety as in backgrounds. If you do a winter photoshoot all in the same location, all the backgrounds can begin to look alike.
So, catching up on my belated blogging, I found this session I did last winter and had to post it! Melanie and Derek were a lot of fun to work with, as we walked from shoot spot to shoot spot. It had just snowed the night before, giving the Pine trees that "Christmas Tree" look that I love. But the best looks were the ones Melanie & Derek gave each other during this 1+ hour engagement session. you can really tell these two are in love.
I found Jordan Pines about 3 years ago on the way to a shoot at Alta. I had passed it by many times before I finally decided to scout the area out. I walked for a few hours all over the place to look for the best places to take pictures, but it was Spring and I had to imagine what it would look like filled with snow. When I finally went there in the winter for the first time, I was stunned to see the transformation. In my wildest dreams, I did not imagine that it would look so beautiful.
