Summer Soapstone Basin Bride & Groom Session with Kodi & Brenden
The Summer Soapstone Basin Bride & Groom Session with Kodi & Brenden was beyond belief! Imagine a trillion wildflowers of all different colors spread out across a vast expanse of land on a hilltop, surrounded by pine and aspen trees. There are very few places that I don't know about in Utah to take pictures. I have been shooting weddings for about 10 years now, and I thought I had seen everything, until a client of mine suggested Soapstone basin. I went day ahead of time to check it out since I had no idea if it was a good place to take pictures, and was astonished at how beautiful it was.
The funny thing is, I had almost accidently made it here when I took a wrong turn going to Mirror Lake, and was looking for a cutoff road to get me back to where I was going. I went part way up the road to Soapstone Basin before I had to turn back due to a 5 foot high snow bank across the road.
It would be hard to say where my favorite shoot spot was this day at Soapstone Basin, but maybe the yellow and purple flowers growing into the aspen trees. The contrast of the white aspen tree trunks growing out of the lush flower covered ground was so beautiful.
Working with Kodi & Brenden was a lot of fun, and they were both very nice people. I think they were even surprised about how beautiful the location was. The only problem is it is a bit far, but well worth the drive in my opinion.
The pictures above are just a very few of my favorites from the Summer Soapstone Basin Bride & Groom Session with Kodi & Brenden. Enjoy!
