The Fall Sawmill Campground Engagement Session with Josie & Jeff was a new location for me. As the Fall leaves have left the higher elevations, I am still seeing them in the lower part of American fork Canyon, so that's where we chose to do the shoot.
I had never been to the Sawmill Campground before today. I had passed it many times on the way to Tibble Fork Reservoir and the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway. But there are so many other places to shoot fall colors in Utah that until everyplace else is tapped out, it did not seem worth it to go there. But what I thought would be a mundane place with some Fall colors ended up being a beautiful new place that I will keep in mind for next year!
The most difficult thing about the shoot was finding a place to park. The Sawmill campground has a very small parking lot so shooting on the weekends is not a good idea, and especially on the last few days of warm weather when everybody was out, but that's where we were.
The first place we found to shoot was a interesting looking bridge crossing the river. That was just south of our planned starting location. There was a beautiful, paved path that wound its way through the beautiful Fall colored trees.
My favorite spot was a large boulder in the middle of the river that was accessed by a log wedged between some rocks. From that point I had Josie and Jeff stand on the rock with the river flowing around them and the fall colors in the background.
Working with Josie and Jeff was great, and we all had a lot of fun.
The pictures above are just a very few of my favorites from the Fall Sawmill Campground Engagement Session with Josie & Jeff. Enjoy!
