Today I got to go back to one of my favorite shoot locations, for Madison & Josh’s Summer Antelope Island Engagements. And it was a day to remember, beautiful sunsets, lots of variety in locations, perfect weather (a little windy) and very little bugs.
I love antelope Island for to many reasons to count. It is not close to me. I used to live in Bountiful, UT, and it was only about a 45-minute drive from where I lived. Then I moved to Lehi, and it became a 1.5-hour drive. But I still go there as often as possible.
You have to go there in the right months. From May until the end of July, it’s the bug months. You can go there, but just plan on getting a lot of mosquito repellant. In May, I would not even go there at all as that’s usually when the bugs hatch, and the sky is filled with swarms of them. But today, the bugs aren’t bad, and the sky is beautiful, and I have a great couple to work with, Madison & Josh.
I know many places throughout the island to take pictures, and we went to 6 of them. That’s all we had time for before the sun would set. Everything has to be planned just right to be able to get to the beach 5 minutes prior to sunset. And yes, we made it just in time to get the sun setting over the mountains on the opposite side of The Great Salt Lake.
Today there was a beautiful sunset, with a beautiful couple. What else could you ask for?
