Fall Big Springs Park Engagement with Alyssa & Spencer
The Fall Big Springs Park engagement went so well that I wish I had gone here earlier in the Fall, when the red leaves were still on the maple leaf trees, but even without them the landscape was amazing!
I had to find a new location for the engagement shoot with Alyssa & Spencer, as the location I had planned on shooting at, no longer had any fall leaves. One by one, the higher elevation locations have lost their leaves early this year, making it difficult to find beautiful places to shoot a fall engagement with the color in the background. Very last minute, I went the morning of the shoot to scout out Big Springs Park in Provo canyon.
Sometimes later in fall the lower elevation locations, or locations shaded by mountains, still have some color. When I arrived, I did not see very much color left in the trees. But keeping my hopes up, I walked up the forest trail a ways until the forest opened up and I was surprised to see a wide open grassy field surrounded by high mountains. The mountains were snow tipped and purple, while the surrounding forest was yellow with fall aspens. It was an amazing sight to behold. Its as if this area was not touched by the dry weather that had dropped the leaves everywhere else.
So I immediately ran back down the path to my truck and when I got home I called Alyssa and sent her a few pictures from my cell phone. She loved the background! So we decided to do a Fall Big Springs park Engagement. And even though the morning sky was a lot more blue than when we started the session, the soft light of the afternoon was even more amazing.
Alyssa & Spencer were very easy to work with. We walked all over the area to get some great shots. We crossed streams, walked in mud, crossed tall grassy fields, and walked through forested paths. In the end, I loved one of the pictures so much i put it on the first page of my website.
