Fall Squaw Peak Engagement Session with Taylor & Logan

Fall Squaw Peak Engagement Session with Taylor & Logan

by Utah Wedding Photographers James Erick Photography Utah

The Fall Squaw Peak Engagement Session with Taylor & Logan was looking bleak at first. Most of the Fall leaves had fallen, or were dead. I had just been up here four days earlier and it was beautiful. I could not believe that in 4 days the entire landscape had changed. But then, a gleam of hope came as we started up the rough and winding dirt road to the top of the mountain, and we found that not all the leaves were gone!

When Logan asked me for great places to do a Fall Engagement, the first place I thought of was Squaw Peak. I had been there several times already in the past two weeks and it was amazingly beautiful. So that what I recommended. But when i got there this time, everything had changed. Most of the leaves had turned brown, or had fallen off completely. And as I looked up the long slop to the mountains in the distance, I could only see a couple of trees that were still red or yellow. So we decided after a few shots to go further up the mountain.

Near the top, coming around a bend in the road, there was a beautiful yellow aspen tree forest stretching out in patches across an open field. In the distance most of the leaves had fallen off the trees, but not here. Jackpot! We found what we were looking for, but it was not going to be easy. There were sparse patches of color so we had to drive or walk from location to location to get these shots.

Taylor & Logan were a lot of fun to work with. I especially liked the last spot we shot in where they had a leaf fight. I don't know who won, but they were both covered in the fall leaves.
