Cara & Ray's Fall McPolin Farm Bride and Groom SessionPhotographed by Utah Wedding Photographers James Erick Photography Utah

There’s something inherently magical about a fall McPolin Farm Bride and Groom session. Nestled in the heart of Park City, the iconic white barn, rolling hills, and vibrant fall foliage create a perfect backdrop for capturing timeless moments of love. Cara and Ray’s session was no exception—every detail came together beautifully to celebrate their love story in a way that felt natural, heartfelt, and unforgettable.

A Perfect Fall Day at McPolin Farm

As a Utah Wedding Photographer, I’ve always found fall to be a truly inspiring season for bride and groom sessions. The crispness in the air, the symphony of colors in the leaves, and the soft light all combine to create a dreamlike atmosphere. However, autumn can be unpredictable, with weather conditions often swinging between sunny skies and sudden storms.

On the day of Cara and Ray’s McPolin Farm bride and groom session, we were fortunate to experience fall at its finest. The sky was adorned with light, scattered clouds, creating a soft, diffused light that brought out the vivid hues of the season. It was cool enough to embrace the spirit of fall but still comfortable for everyone involved. Mother Nature, it seemed, was on our side.

Cara and Ray’s Love Story

Meeting Cara and Ray was like stepping into a fairytale. Ray, originally from New Zealand, and Cara, who hails from Alaska, share a love story that spans continents. Their journey together has been filled with adventure, mutual respect, and undeniable chemistry—a connection that was impossible to miss during their session.

Cara’s striking resemblance to a young Angelina Jolie is worth mentioning, but her beauty truly radiated from within. Her adventurous, kind-hearted nature shone through as we explored the grounds of McPolin Farm. Every pose felt effortless, her smile genuine, and her energy infectious.

Ray, on the other hand, brought his own unique charm to the session. His New Zealand accent and easygoing personality added a touch of humor and warmth to the shoot. It was evident that he and Cara shared a deep bond, filled with laughter and a sense of shared adventure. Watching their interaction was a joy—it was like seeing best friends who also happen to be soulmates.

The Iconic McPolin Barn

McPolin Farm is one of Utah’s most recognizable landmarks. The white barn, surrounded by lush hills and golden aspens, offers a rustic yet elegant setting. It’s a favorite location among Utah Wedding Photographers for good reason.

For Cara and Ray, the barn was the perfect canvas for their love story. We started with wide-angle shots to capture the barn and surrounding landscape in all its glory. As the session progressed, we moved to the wooden fences and tree-lined paths, which provided a more intimate setting for close-up shots.

The vibrant fall colors framed Cara and Ray beautifully, from the golden aspens to the crimson maple leaves scattered on the ground. Each scene felt like a chapter in their story, filled with warmth and authenticity.

Capturing the Magic of the Moment

Cara and Ray’s energy throughout the session was infectious. They couldn’t stop smiling, which made it nearly impossible to capture a serious or dramatic moment—and that was just fine. Their joy and love for each other were palpable, and every frame radiated happiness.

One of my favorite moments was when we caught the light breaking through the clouds just as Cara and Ray shared a laugh. The golden glow highlighted their expressions and made the scene feel like a page out of a romance novel. These are the kinds of unplanned moments that make every session unique and memorable.

Another standout shot featured Ray spinning Cara in a playful twirl. Her dress caught the light perfectly, and the backdrop of the barn and fall foliage added a touch of whimsy to the image.

Reflections on a Memorable Session

Cara and Ray’s McPolin Farm bride and groom session was everything I could hope for as a photographer. It was filled with genuine emotion, laughter, and the undeniable magic of fall in Utah. From the iconic setting of McPolin Barn to the natural chemistry between Cara and Ray, every element came together seamlessly to tell their love story.

As a Utah Wedding Photographer, I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of moments like these. Capturing the love and joy of a couple on the cusp of their new life together is a privilege that never gets old. Cara and Ray’s session reminded me why I do what I do—to preserve these fleeting moments so they can be cherished for a lifetime.
